Brunello, Barolo and Italian Reds
Italy's two great reds, Nebbiolo from Piedmont and Sangiovese from Tuscany, take up more of our shelf than anything else from one country. Barolo from Poderi Aldo Conterno, Massolino, Roagna, Elvio Cogno, Bovio and Ettore Germano, Barbaresco from Bruno Rocca, and Langhe Nebbiolo for a weeknight from Elio Grasso, Vietti and Paitin. Brunello di Montalcino from Caprili, Uccelliera, Corte dei Venti, Casanuova delle Cerbaie and Pietranera Riserva, with Chianti Classico from Fèlsina, Poggerino and Montevertine. Then the rest of the boot: Amarone, Etna from Benanti and Tenuta di Fessina, Montepulciano d'Abruzzo and Primitivo. Tell us the vintage you are after; some of these we can order. Pickup, local delivery or shipping where the law allows.
